OUR SERVICES
Mobile Restos du Coeur
A Mobile Resto du Coeur is used to distribute food parcels in isolated communities where food aid is non-existent, thanks to a partnership with the local CPAS [public welfare agency].
The idea for the Mobile Resto du Coeur (formerly known as the Food truck), came about in 2017. This initiative came about from a striking observation: the lack of food aid in certain regions of Belgium.
In 2019 and 2021, thanks to the help of its generous donors, the Resto du Coeur Federation was able to invest in new refrigerated vans.
So we currently have three Mobile Resto du Coeur in operation, touring Wallonia and certain disadvantaged areas of the Brussels region.
How does it work?
Once a week, the Mobile Resto du Coeur visit different localities to distribute food parcels to families.
We also distribute, depending on our reserves and resources:
-
Coffee, tea, sugar, flour, soup, chocolate, jam, chocolate spread, cold meats, cheese, crisps, children's snacks and ready meals, etc.
-
Hygiene products, such as: toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, shower products, washing powder, cleaning products, etc.
-
Baby nappies can be distributed to order. The price of packs of nappies varies between €2 and €3, depending on the size.
We also try to adapt our parcels to the different diets of our beneficiaries.
