The Annual Food Collection Drive of the Restos du Cœur of Belgium was conducted on 7 and 8 March across 26 stores, mobilising 10 Restos du Cœur and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors, 19,051 kilos of food were collected, providing vital support to people facing hardship.

Our initial goal was actually to collect at least 30,000 kilos of food, which is over six tonnes more than in 2024. Despite the unwavering commitment of our volunteers and the generosity of donors, we unfortunately fell short of this target. This situation highlights the growing challenges we face in mobilising sufficient resources in the face of deepening poverty in Belgium.

In this context, every donation remains vital in enabling the Restos du Cœur to continue distributing balanced and varied meals to those most in need. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this collection drive: the customers of our partner stores for their generosity, the stores themselves that opened their doors to welcome us, and of course, our wonderful volunteers, without whom none of this would be possible. Although the result fell short of our expectations, collecting 19 tonnes is still quite an achievement, one that reflects the solidarity and commitment of each and everyone involved.
