Inclusiveness in het hart van Resto du Coeur Val de Sambre: a model of solidarity
October 2024
At the Restos du Cœur, we believe in inclusion and solidarity for all. Our Resto du Cœur Val de Sambre is a beautiful case in point, thanks to a valuable partnership with local associations, including Saphemo, which supports people with disabilities in open environments.
These exceptional individuals are an integral part of the volunteer team. Their presence enriches the daily life of the Resto du Cœur Val de Sambre and embodies perfectly our values of mutual aid, friendliness, and listening.
From setting tables to serving, distributing packages, tidying up, and cooking, Mattéo, Tricia, Michaël et Nathalie provide invaluable help to the Resto du Cœur Val de Sambre, and their volunteer work is always greatly appreciated.
Their testimonials:
❤️ Mattéo: "I like coming here to lend a hand to the volunteers and help others who come to eat. I’m happy that others are kind to me, and I also bring kindness. It feels good to be among others and not always with those from Saphemo."
❤️ Michaël: "It brings me happiness to be here, and I feel joy in my heart."
❤️ Nathalie: "I’m happy to be part of a good team. Everyone is very kind to me."
❤️ Tricia: "I enjoy being in contact with people, and I like serving. I know I can do it well, and they trust me here."
A word from Malou, Site Manager of the Resto du Coeur Val de Sambre:
"Being a coordinator is an unsuspectedly rich human experience. Our priority is to cultivate solidarity, mutual aid, and motivation in the volunteer team. We do everything we can to ensure that each volunteer feels at home, both in the team and in the tasks assigned to them. Each volunteer finds his or her place and contributes to creating a more open, joyful, and supportive atmosphere. Together, we welcome, cook, and distribute food to those in need, always with an open heart."
Thanks are in order for Mattéo, Tricia, Michaël et Nathalie and all our volunteers for their incredible contribution. Together, we make (and embody) a difference!
