Back to School 2026: 3,621 children supported

The new school year is now well underway. This year, the Federation’s Back‑to‑School Action enabled 3,621 children to receive the supplies they needed to begin the school year in better conditions.
For many families, preparing for the new term represents an expense that is difficult to absorb. Exercise books, binders, pencil cases, writing materials or geometry sets: when the household budget is already devoted to essential needs, these purchases can quickly become a source of anxiety.
Our 2026 campaign carried a simple message: “Before talking about the school of tomorrow, let us make sure every child can experience school today.”
Through this action, that message took on a very concrete form.
Lightening the burden of the new school year
Receiving the necessary supplies does not, of course, resolve all the difficulties faced by families experiencing hardship.
But this support helps to ease a significant expense and prevents the lack of school materials from becoming an additional obstacle when returning to the classroom.
Educational assistance is an integral part of the work of the Restos du Cœur, alongside food aid, housing assistance and healthcare assistance.
The consequences of hardship go far beyond income. They can also weigh on children’s daily lives and on the conditions in which they learn, grow and build their future.
