A 21st Resto opens its doors in Berlaar!

During our last General Assembly in March, the Welzijnsschakels association of Berlaar joined our extended family. Let's extend a welcome to the 21st Resto du Cœur in Belgium!
Established in 1999 as a non-profit association to help underprivileged families, Welzijnsschakels does its bit locally to turn a dream to reality, namely a society without poverty and exclusion. The association relies on motivated volunteers who collect, sort, prepare, and assemble parcels which they distribute while also welcoming people and organising gatherings to bring them together. It's a wonderful, warm, and welcoming team that is constantly endeavouring to improve its operations! As part of its project, the association collaborates with the Public Social Welfare Center (CPAS), the neighbourhood facilities Balderhuys and Tarag, and the Briljant school group.
Food is distributed there every other Thursday, and hygiene and cleaning products are regularly made available, along with information on the importance of healthy eating and hygiene. They also underscore the importance of social contacts.
